I wasn't there, I know nothing.

Meg Lasswell writes about comics sometimes. She'll also be your friend, if you bring her coffee.

Excellent Washington Post column

On ladies and power, and what it too often takes to combine those things in the still male-dominated political arena. It's cogent, a little humorous, and practically glows with insight. Go educate yerself!

Literary Gossip

Lo, and there was the Booker Prize, and it was good. And as the Booker Prize passes away, so too the Booker Prize parties, which you know you've always been curious about.

I'm not sure why this amuses me so much, probably because it's just like a party column in People, only with writers instead of starlets.

these writer types are a scream

Are you familiar with Donald Roller Wilson? Just hit "skip" on the little registration screen, and enjoy some gothic Southern weirdness.

Also see this week's Tiny Showcase print; it's sold out, as usual, but cute!

It is a sickness

Most of the people who park in the parking lot at work are idiots. This isn't a value judgement — they're just dumb, and I'm not the only one who's noticed. Today, for example, I pulled in behind a Porsche, going about -5mph. The driver pulled slooooooowly into the lot, then driiiiiifted leftish and rightish down the main aisle, stopped once, drifted some more, then stopped again. There I sat behind him, fuming, and our office manager sat behind me. The Porsche's driver was looking from side to side: "Gee, where should I park?" Finally he picked a spot (on the left) and I zipped past him to our office. As I walked into the building with the office manager, she said "You know, sometimes you don't want to honk so much as to RUN OVER THEM." And that's the truth.
